Publish to TikTok automatically

What it can do

• Direct post or draft. Publish right away (post_mode=DIRECT_POST) or send the video to the TikTok inbox so the creator finishes it in the app (MEDIA_UPLOAD, also tiktok_upload_to_draft).
• Videos in chunks. Files are uploaded in parts as TikTok's media transfer guide requires.
• Photo posts. Up to 35 images as a TikTok photo post, with a chosen cover image and, if you like, TikTok's automatic background music (auto_add_music).
• Settings TikTok allows. Before every post we ask TikTok which privacy levels the account offers and which features the creator has switched off. Choose who can watch, and turn off comments, duet or stitch.
• Disclosure. Paid partnership (branded content), promoting your own business, and TikTok's AI-generated content label (is_aigc).
• Caption and cover. Caption up to 2,200 characters (photo posts: title up to 90), cover frame by time stamp.

Limits

• Review: TikTok app review plus the Direct Post audit. Until TikTok has approved our app, the connect button shows "coming soon".
• Before the audit TikTok only allows private posts ("only me") and a small number of creators per day – that applies to every new TikTok app, not just ours.
• Music and location: TikTok's official Content Posting API has no fields for picking a sound or tagging a location. We therefore do not offer them. If you send tiktok_music_id or tiktok_location_id, the post is published without them and shows a warning. The only music option the API offers is the automatic music for photo posts.
• First comment: not offered by TikTok's API.
• Statistics and delete: not available through the Content Posting API.
• Per account: up to 15 posts per connected TikTok account in 24 hours.
• Branded content cannot be posted as private.

Setup

1. Open Accounts in the app and choose the profile.
2. Click Connect on the TikTok tile.
3. Sign in with TikTok and allow access to your basic profile and to posting videos.
4. Back in the app the tile shows your TikTok name. In New post tick TikTok and choose "Who can watch" – TikTok requires an explicit choice, there is no hidden default.
5. Optional: choose "Send to TikTok inbox" if you want to finish the post in the TikTok app.

FAQ

Why can I only choose "only me"?

Either the account is private, or TikTok has not finished auditing our app yet. Until then TikTok allows private posts only. See platform not available.

Can I add a TikTok sound or a location?

No. TikTok does not offer this in its official posting API. Send the video to the inbox as a draft and add sound or location in the TikTok app before publishing.

What is the difference between direct post and inbox?

Direct post publishes immediately. Inbox puts the upload into the creator's TikTok notifications; the creator edits and publishes it in the app.

Do I have to agree to anything before posting?

Yes. TikTok asks every app to show its Music Usage Confirmation (and the Branded Content Policy for paid partnerships) before the post button. We show both in the composer.
