What it can do
- Text posts up to 500 characters.
- Videos and photos, each with alt text.
- Carousels with up to 20 images and videos.
- Topic tag (one per post, 1–50 characters) and reply control (everyone, profiles you follow, mentioned only).
- First reply right after publishing – Threads' equivalent of a first comment.
- Delete a post again via the API.
Like Instagram, Threads fetches media from a signed, unguessable address on our servers.
Limits
- Review: Meta App Review. Until Meta has approved our app, the connect button shows "coming soon".
- 250 posts and 1,000 replies per 24 hours per profile (Threads' limits; a carousel counts as one post).
- 500 characters per post; longer text is not split automatically.
- Statistics are not part of our Threads integration yet.
- Topic tags must not contain a full stop or "&".
Setup
- In the app open Accounts, choose the profile and click Connect on the Threads tile.
- Sign in with the Instagram account that owns your Threads profile and allow posting and replies.
- The tile shows your Threads name.
- In New post tick Threads; set the Threads text, topic tag and reply control if you want something different from the main text.
Via API: platform[]=threads, text in threads_title or title, threads_topic_tag, threads_reply_control. Text-only posts go to /api/upload_text. More: connect accounts.
FAQ
Can I post the same text as on Instagram?
Yes. Without a Threads-specific text we use the main title. Keep the 500-character limit in mind.
Does the connection expire?
Threads tokens last 60 days. We renew them automatically while the account is in use; if renewing fails you see "reconnect needed".
Can I schedule Threads posts?
Yes. Schedule them like any other post; we publish at the chosen time in your time zone. Threads itself has no scheduling in its API, so the post is created at that moment.
Are hashtags supported?
Threads uses one topic tag per post instead of many hashtags. Send it in threads_topic_tag.
