Connecting accounts, profiles and client links
How profiles and accounts work, how clients connect their own accounts by link, how to pick a YouTube brand account and how to reconnect an expired account.
Every connection runs through the official sign-in of the platform. We never see or store your platform password – only an access token, stored encrypted with AES-256-GCM.
Profiles and accounts
- A profile groups the accounts of one brand or client.
- A profile has one account per platform. For a second YouTube channel, create a second profile.
- The profile name (for example
my-brand) is theuserfield in the API. Choose it carefully – it should not change later.
Create profiles under Accounts → New profile. Your plan sets how many profiles you can have.
Connect an account
- Open Accounts.
- In the profile card, click Connect next to the platform.
- Sign in at the platform and allow access.
- You return to Accounts, and the tile shows the account name.
Which platforms are available right now is shown on the Integrations page in the app and on the integrations overview. A platform marked "Coming soon" is still reviewing our app; its connect button becomes active as soon as the review is done. Platform-specific steps are on each integration page, for example YouTube or Bluesky.
YouTube channels and brand accounts
Many YouTube channels belong to a brand account rather than to your personal Google account. Google decides which channel is connected:
- Click Connect next to YouTube.
- In Google's window, choose the Google account and then the channel or brand account you want to publish to.
- Allow access.
The tile then shows the channel name. If you have several channels, connect each one in its own profile. If the wrong channel appears, click Remove, then Connect again and pick the other channel in Google's chooser.
LinkedIn: personal profile or company page
LinkedIn has two kinds of access:
- Personal profile – posts appear as you.
- Company pages – posts appear as the page. This needs a separate LinkedIn app with the Community Management API and that you are an administrator of the page.
When both are available, the connect dialog lets you choose. After connecting company access, pick the page in New post or send target_linkedin_page_id in the API. Details: LinkedIn integration.
Bluesky with an app password
Bluesky does not use a sign-in window. Instead:
- In Bluesky open Settings → Privacy and security → App passwords and create one.
- In Video Automation click Connect next to Bluesky and enter your handle (for example
name.bsky.social) and the app password.
Your normal Bluesky password is never needed.
Let clients connect their own accounts
Agencies often do not have their clients' logins. Use a connect link:
- In Accounts, click Connect link for customer on the client's profile.
- Copy the link and send it to your client. It is valid for 48 hours.
- The client opens the link, clicks Connect for each platform and signs in. No user account is needed.
The API offers the same: POST /api/uploadposts/users/generate-jwt returns an access_url.
Reconnect an account
Access can expire or be revoked – for example LinkedIn access after 60 days, or when someone removes our app in their platform settings. We then mark the tile Reconnect needed, show a note on the overview and send the webhook event social_account_reauth_required.
- Open Accounts.
- Click Reconnect on the highlighted tile and sign in again.
Scheduled posts for that account wait; posts that already failed can be resent with Retry failed. Background: Troubleshooting – expired login.
Remove an account
Click Remove on the tile. We revoke the access at the platform (where the platform allows it) and delete the stored tokens. Scheduled posts for this account will then fail, so cancel or move them first.
