Video Automation

Getting started with Video Automation

Create your workspace, connect a first account, upload a video and publish or schedule it – the first steps in Video Automation, explained step by step.

Video Automation publishes and schedules your videos on several social platforms from one place – in the dashboard or by API. This guide takes you from a new account to your first published post.

1. Create your workspace

  1. Open the sign-up page and enter your name, company or project, e-mail address and a password (at least 10 characters).
  2. Accept the terms (incl. the data processing agreement) and create the account.
  3. Confirm your e-mail address with the link we send you. Until then you can look around, but inviting people is blocked.

Every new workspace starts with a 14-day trial without a credit card: 2 profiles and 50 uploads. Details are in Plans and billing.

2. Understand profiles and accounts

  • A profile stands for one brand, one client or one channel group (for example my-brand).
  • Each profile holds one account per platform – one YouTube channel, one TikTok account and so on.
  • In the API the profile name is the user field.

A first profile is created with your workspace. Add more under Accounts → New profile.

3. Connect a first account

  1. Open Accounts in the menu.
  2. Click Connect next to the platform you want.
  3. Sign in at the platform and allow access. You come back to the dashboard automatically.

Which platforms you can connect today is shown on the Integrations page in the app and on the integrations overview. Bluesky works right away with an app password. The other platforms become available once each platform has approved our app – until then their button says "Coming soon". Step-by-step instructions per platform are on the integration pages, for example Bluesky.

4. Upload and publish

  1. Open New post.
  2. Drop a video (MP4 or MOV) into the upload area or click to choose a file. Photos work for platforms that support them.
  3. Enter a title or caption. It is used for every platform unless you set a platform-specific text under Platform options.
  4. Pick the profile and tick the platforms. Only connected accounts can be selected.
  5. Set options per platform, for example visibility, AI label or category.
  6. Click Publish now – or tick Schedule for later, pick date, time and time zone and click Schedule.

You can follow the progress under Queue; finished posts move to History with a link to the published post. See Scheduling posts for time zones, queue slots and first comments.

5. Automate with the API

If you already use n8n, Make, Zapier or your own scripts:

  1. Open API & webhooks and create an API key. It is shown only once.
  2. Send requests to https://my-video-automation.com with the header Authorization: Bearer YOUR_KEY.
  3. Register a webhook to get the result of every upload.

Existing Upload-Post scripts keep working – only the base URL and key change. See API and keys and Switching from Upload-Post.

6. Invite your team

Under Team you invite colleagues and give them a role: administrator, editor, viewer or a custom role. Every change is recorded in the activity log under Settings.

Where to get help

  • The Help panel in the app searches all articles.
  • The question mark next to connect, publish and schedule leads to the matching article.
